Why do I only get G on a 4g network

So i just got a brand new s7 from 02 on a 4g contract. I was sold on:

There is excellent 4G coverage here
Good indoors and outdoors.

However am started to think i've been had...

My phone prefers "G" and the rare times i get H or H+. I think since I've owned this phone I've had 4g once and that lasted about 45 seconds...

My contract is less than a month old so i could force it back on them for providing a crap service but am not entirely sure what the issue is. Can anyone shed some light

Yea but this contract is brand new. As i said not even a month old and I can't get 4g. I might just call o2 and send the phone back. Still them to stuff it and go with EE
