Why is my original cable not fast charging anymore ?

My s7 has not been fast charging for 2 days so i checked if fast charging was disabled but it wasn't. Online they said clearing cache data and deleting newly downloaded apps might help which did help but it wasn't charging fast enogh, so i changed the cble and used the same wall charger it worked but now the original cable isn't working. How can i make it work again.

Perhaps the original cable has failed.

Welcome to Android Central! I agree with belodion--cables can fail, especially if you're in the habit of bending or kinking them at each end, where they join the plugs.
