how do i stop text messages from being automatically being sent to my email app?

when I get a text message it also is being sent to my email app. How do I stop the auto synching.

Welcome to Android Central! Open your Email app, tap Menu>Settings, select the email account, and look for the option for Sync SMS--turn that off. Alternatively, go to your carrier's account website, and see if there is an option there for sending SMS copies to your email.
