nexus 7 not visible in my computer

When connecting my Nexus 7(2012) to a windows computer with usb cable..The 7 isn't connected to the pc

Welcome to Android Central! When you connect via USB, swipe down the notification panel--do you see a USB notification? If so, tap it and make sure MTP is selected. If you don't see the notification, then try a different USB cable, since cables can fail. If other cables don't work, then check the microUSB port to make sure there isn't any debris in there.
