    Hi

    I am using an azure SQL backend database and an android app. Within there i have all the standard data types, NVarChar, Int etc. But one of my fields is of type "Geography". In other words it holds GPS, Geo Location data.

    For me to push data into a record for this field, in SQL Management studio i would use:

    USE [BackEnd]
    GO

    UPDATE [dbo].[Item]
    SET [location] = geography::Point(51.5074, 0.1278, 4326)
    WHERE [text] = 'Test'
    GO

    That will push in Co-ordinates for the record "Test" for London. Simple so far.
    The thing is, from my Android app, i want to push my current GPS info to this table.
    How do i represent the longtitude and lattitude values within java/android. (i am new to android development)
    How does android/java represent a "Geography" type?

    To start with, i want to push a specific value in. How do i specifically represent "geography::Point(51.5074, 0.1278, 4326)" in java.
    Once i get past this part, i will then look for, ask the phone to give my current location, and then push it.
    Thanks in advance
    Conor
