Why is my s7 not pairing with my car bluetooth?

A

AC Question

I have upgraded from a s5 to a s7 but since then I am unable to pair my device with my Renault Megane via bluetooth. I have tried pairing it with other devices and it finds them fine but just doesn't pick anything up in the car. The s5 was working perfectly fine previously. Any help would be appreciated.

Bluetooth specifies a way of transferring data from one device to another - but not what data or what the format of the data should be. We're still in Kindergarten with Bluetooth. There's not much you can do if a new device doesn't work with an older one that used to work with an older one (like the S5).

Welcome to Android Central! Can you clarify--does the phone detect the car but the car doesn't see the phone, or vice-versa? Or do neither devices detect each other?

Have you already tried deleting the old S5 from the car's Bluetooth?

You will probably need to update the BT module in your Megane as following the update BT compatibility has been lost. I have also experienced this. For whatever reason upgrades are not backwards compatible which sucks IMHO
