I updated my Verizon Note 5 to Android 6.0.1 today and now I have issues with Google speaking responses to me via Bluetooth. For example, I often text via my headset. I press the headset button for two second and it activates Google on my phone. In the past I'dget the two beeps, say “text Jane Doe" and Google would respond “text Jane Doe, sure, what's the message?” Since the update Google will no longer speak back to me. This also applies when I say “what's the weather.” The headset will still beep, but I get no verbal response from Google. What should I try to resolve this?

Welcome to Android Central! Open the Google app, tap Menu>Settings>Voice, and make sure Speech Output is on.

Thank you! I have already checked that and it's set to on. I'm not sure where else to turn.

Can you hear other media through the Bluetooth headphones, like music? If not, go to Settings>Bluetooth, select the headset, and make sure Media Audio is checked on.

Yep, all other media comes through as normal.

Hmm, not sure what to try next. There might be some incompatibility that was introduced with the update. Can you try any other Bluetooth headset?

Just tried it on two other Bluetooth devices with the same result. Hhmmm! This is quite frustrating.

I'd let Verizon know about this. They'll probably blow it off, but who knows--if enough people complain about the same issue, they might isolate the problem and update it in a future patch.

Try this as well: Go to Settings>Accessibility, and turn the Switch Access toggle on. This helps with another Google Now issue (where the tone after "Ok Google" disappeared mysteriously), so just wondering if it might also help your issue.
