I'm looking for an Android app that allows me to record short voice memos for myself. For reminders, ideas or todos, etc. I'd like it to be simple and fast. Something I could use while stuck in traffic.

I downloaded "VoiceDrop: Dropbox Voice Memos" today on the play store. Nice, simple and very fast way to record for me. And it uploads auto to your dropbox account. I can use it one handed without really looking at my phone. Hope this helps.

Most devices have a native (stock) voice recorder. They normally have widgets available for quick access from one of your main acreens.

Take a step further, you could use a launcher such as Nova Prime and set the recording app to a short cut of long holding the home button, or double pressing the home button.

As far as third party apps, I'm sorry, I'm not very aware of which are the best.
