I changed sim card and now cannot sign into Google apps, including Gmail

I changed the sim card in my Motorola Droid Turbo (OS ver 5.1) and though I usually reboot the phone to reset everything my power button is broken so I cannot do that.

I tried accessing Gmail but get an error message " Couldn't sign in" with a link to sign in. I press the sign in link and although the screen flashes no sign in screen appears.

Is there another way to sign into Google/Gmail?
