google says I am "Offline", no network available. how do I fix this

What am I missing, where in settings do I check to see if something is not checked?

Welcome to Android Central! Which device are you using? Are you connected via wi-fi or mobile data? If wi-fi, are you certain the network you're connected to is actually connected to the web itself?
