Hi, my Samsung Galaxy s3 wont connect Bluetooth to my Anker speaker. My son gave me this phone and I know it was connecting to his Bluetooth speaker. Any ideas?

Some devices aren't compatible, different versions of Bluetooth sometimes won't work. I assume you tried to pair the speaker with the S3? ...

Bluetooth is a method of sending data from one device to another. The format of the data, even the data itself, isn't specified - so some devices will pair and transfer, some will pair but not transfer and some won't even pair. We're years from full Bluetooth compatibility. (It took years before you could send a picture by MMS from one carrier to another.)

However ... I suspect that your phone itself is defective. Pairing and using a speaker or headset is usually available in all Bluetooth devices.

Thanks for your reply. Yes I tried pairing the speaker with the phone but the phone doesn't discover the speaker. It immediately finds and pairs my laptop but not the speaker.

Thanks for your reply. I don't think the phone is defective as my Son had his BT speaker paired and working with this phone. Maybe I haven't got the settings right.
