Why does some of my apps require to be open to give push notifications?

Some of my apps (livescore app, bank account app, etc) doesn't give me push notifications unless I have the app open. I never had this problem with these apps on any other phones. Is there a way to fix it or is it a problem with the apps? I'm using the Huawei P9.

It would be appreciated related. I don't think bank notifications sent in that way could be secure. I don't know about lives core app so can't comment

Welcome to Android Central! It probably has to do with Huawei's aggressive RAM management, which tends to completely close an app if it's not actively being used and if it isn't "protected." Go to your power management options and look for the option to protect apps.
