AC Question

I recently dropped my Huawei P9 Lite on some rocks with its screen up. The phone had a wallet case on and the drop was not that high either, but right away when I tried to unlock my phone with the fingerprint, it did nothing. Huawei P9 lite does have it on the back side of the phone. When I looked at the sensor, I could see just a small, not even half a mm sized dent on the sensor. You can only see it from a right angle when the light casts a shadow to it. So my question is, is it possible the sensor is completely destroyed by the tiny dent? Does warranty cover the damage? I bought the phone just about 2 months ago... I've tried adding more fingerprints and everything but it does not respond to any touch.

It does sound like damage of some sort has been done, yes.
Being accidental, it would not be warranty-covered.
