My Samsung Tab2 7inch won't charge or turn on. What can I do?

So earlier today I went to turn on my tablet when I realised it had powered off turns out I'd left it on all night and the battery drained. It turned on saying it had 0% charge. I plugged it in and the screen lit up but there was an X over the lightning bolt, usually when this happens my tablet stays on and charges when I turn it on. Today it just powered off. So I plugged it in and 20mins later I checked it and it wouldn't turn on. Every so often the battery symbol shows with a loading circle shows up and a blue section takes about 1/4 of the battery then the tablet turns off. Then it repeats this every 2mins or so. But it still won't charge.

What can I do please help
