Can anyone help me find where on my s7 I can set photos to store on the SD card, or copy them there? I also can't find how to access what's on the card.

Welcome to Android Central Here's a really good tutorial How to move the pictures folder to the SD card on the Samsung Galaxy S7 - SD Card - Android Smartphones
To find out what's on the card (or the phone), open your app drawer, select tools folder, which is on the first page and use the My Files app

Thank you - very helpful! When I look in 'My File' I see the folders, but it's not clear what's in them, even when opened. Maybe I have to plug phone into laptop to see more clearly the contents of the SD card? Thanks again!

You should be able to find things without a PC. Have an "explore" with My Files, you can't do any damage. Photos are usually found in the DCIM folder. If you need further help, just "yell".

Brilliant! Why can't "DCIM" just say "PHOTOS" ???? Thanks from a very non-tech person...
