No, you normally reflash the ROM - and that comes with no data at all.
If I sent it off it'd have to be wiped

You shouldn't have, unless you put it there just before the problem started and there was no time to back it up.

Booting is restarting the ROM - you do that every time you turn the power off. You mean without wiping the data - and there's none.
