Using ES File Explorer on my phone I can see all the files (photos) on my 32GB external SD card. However, when I connect my phone via a USB cable to my WIndows 10 PC File Explorer does not detect the external SD card (it does detect the internal SD card). I have selected "Use USB for Transfer files (MTP)". What else do I need to allow me to transfer the files on my phone to my PC?

Windows 8 or earlier? Windows 10 has some strange "features". And are you sure you have the correct Motorola - Mac & Windows Drivers installed on the PC?

Not sure if you found out how to fix the problem but I know what needs to be done. You must have "developer options" enabled.
