How do I fix my battery life on Galaxy tab 3?

A

AC Question

My mom has a Samsung galaxy tab 3 and for quite a while now it's been losing battery very quickly. (It went from 67% to 17% in less than an hour. That was when I was closing any and all running programs and doing everything possible to save the battery.) Is this cause for a new battery? A virus? Any ideas?

Welcome to the forums. It may be possible the battery is showing it's age. The device was released between April and June, so the device is going potentially 3 years old. The battery's capacity is probably degrading.

Also, regularly letting it drop to 17% isn't too healthy for the battery. Try to charge it at 50% (or at least 40%). Lithium batteries are not deep-discharge devices.
