You could just charge it every week, but keeping it plugged in won't harm anything. The charging circuit in the phone stops charging the battery when the battery gets to 100%. (It starts charging again when the charge in the battery drops - which is anywhere between 99.5% and around 95%.) I've had phones plugged in for many months with no problems. (It happens in a shop when you plug in a store-owned phone and it gets covered by other things. When you clean up months later, you suddenly remember where you left that missing phone - when you see it.)
