can I get a voice audio message when I receive text messages but not mail

In the past I have had a voice message to say "you have mail" Homer simpson I think! I would like to be able to look at messages promptly and have a lower priority for emails.
Is this doable?

Find the notification you want to use, get it onto your phone in some manner then set it as your notification sound in your text app.

Welcome to Android Central! Copy that sound file to your Notifications directory. Then open your Messaging app, tap Menu>Settings, and look for the notification options. Select the Homer Simpson file.
