My phone suddenly won't play audio over bluetooth

I recently got an FM transmitter for my car, about a month or two ago, and ive used it without any issues pretty much every day since. This morning, though, I connected to it as usual, but when I went to play my music, it played through my phone speakers.
Interestingly, when i adjust my media volume, it doesnt have that little bluetooth like usual. My transmitter's name in the bluetooth menu now also has (no media) next to it, but the media audio box is checked in the settings. .

So far ive restarted my bluetooth, forgot my transmitter and re-paired, restarted my phone, updated my phone, un-checked and re-checked the media option in my bluetooth settings, and restarted my music app. Nothing has worked so far. Please help.
