You can just connect the phone to the laptop and copy them. See Backing up an Android Device. (Or use WiFi File Transfer.)

Welcome to Android Central! I agree with Rukbat. Avoid the Windows Explorer "Import All Pictures and Videos" feature, because that will copy over all images indiscriminately (including thumbnails and cached images from apps).
