If I buy a LG V20 from abroad to use in the UK, can I update Android when due?

I'm on an EE contract in England. the LG V20 is the phone I want to buy but can only buy it from Ireland (ebay it seems the only option).

It's got Nougat but it will eventually have updates. the LG V20 does not seem to be scheduled for release in the UK. How, if possible, can I update the phone's Android since my network does not stock that phone.
