I have a number of 1960s albums copied from vinyl onto a microSD card in mp3 format. All but one play perfectly on my Windows laptop and on my Android tablet and phone. One will only play on the Windows machine. On Android I just get a very distorted beat. I've tried different apps under Windows and Android; I've tried re-recording at a different bit rate, but I always get the same. If I connect my phone to the laptop, I can play the album using the phone as a remote drive.

I would be tempted to try a different MP3 encoder.
Which program and which MP3 encoder are you using to create the MP3 files?
    Which version of windows?

I'm encoding using Goldwave 64 bit running under Windows. I've used the same for all my albums, but there's just one that won't play on my Android devices. The same card plays using Windows Media Player or VLC. My only thought is that there may be some kind of copy protection that Android can recognise - although going through audio capture should have disabled it. I'm not that desperate to play the thing (it's only to keep me amused during a long flight) but I'm baffled as to why this should happen.

I use Audacity to rip my vinyl and VLC to play the songs on PCs and Android devices.

Having tried unsuccessfully to convert a particular vinyl album to something I could play on my Android phone, I finally got around the problem by ripping the tracks off Youtube in all their digital loveliness (or at least lack of 1960s beer stains). When cassette tape recorders became popular, I know record makers tried various tricks to stop you taping from vinyl. I can only imagine that my album had some kind of subliminal coding that Android recognises and Windows doesn't. It's ironic that Google then provides the solution.
