AC Question
I first noticed this when, after leaving my phone unlocked on homescreen for a few seconds without interacting with it, the contacts app popped up without anyone or anything tapping on its icon. I thought nothing of it and closed it, then another 10 seconds (give or take) passed and the same thing happened again. First thing that comes to my mind is "software problem": something must be wrong with the contacts app, maybe it doesn't agree with the latest system update, maybe I accidentally did something to it... except the issue doesn't seem to have anything to do with this app, but rather with a circumscribed area on the bottom/left of the screen (which is where the icon of the contacts app is located in my homescreen), in fact when I leave my phone unlocked with an app such as chrome or instagram running in the foreground the option/text that happens to be in that area is somehow selected after a few seconds, as was the contacts app's icon. Could it still be a software problem? And if not, would you suggest I replace the digitizer? Just looking for some opinions before spending 40€ on something I may not even need to fix this. I was thinking of doing a factory reset (I wanted to get the reset out of the way before coming here to ak for help but I haven't got around to it yet) and then - since chances are that alone won't solve much - proceed to take everything apart hoping that by putting the pieces back together whatever working hardware configuration was inside this phone before several falls on a wide variety of surfaces including concrete and rocks will be magically restored. Also, I would like to know any theories you may have as to what goes on inside my phone when this thing I described happens.
