Virgin LG Tribute 2: USB OTG capable?

Attempting to use a USB endoscope with Tribute 2, ver 5.1.1. Can't get it to work on the android, though unit does work on my win7 laptop. Tried multiple apps. Have seen some chatter about potential incompatibility between 5.1.1 and USB OTG functionality. Anyone have a handle on this?
