Okay, so first of all, apologies if this has already been asked, I'm new to this forum. I own a Samsung Galaxy J5(SM-J500M), that has Android 6.0.1 installed. I am interested in rooting it, but I couldn't find any straight answers online. Are there any precautions I need to take before rooting it? Also, how do I actually root it? I have found many answers online, but they are very different and some people claim to have had problems with them. By the way, if it involves resetting my phone to factory version, I don't mind. Thanks.

I strongly recommend reading thoroughly about rooting until you have mastered the subject first. To attempt rooting without doing that is one of the reasons that we receive appeals for help from users who have rendered their devices unusable.
