How to unlock screen when I forgot password

I use password option for my screen lock (not fingerprint or pattern). Unlike in fingerprint mode or pattern code, in password mode there is no other option when we forgot the password. How to solve this? Android Device Manager cannot reset the password because the password has been set. Please help. I dont want to reset my device.

Welcome to Android Central! Which phone? If it's a Samsung, then you could try using Find My Mobile to change the password. Otherwise, you're probably stuck. In the future, if you're prone to forgetting important things like your phone's password, try writing them down on a piece of paper and keeping them some place secure, like a safe.
