Why does voicemail terminate before full message is recorded?

My daughter tried to leave a voicemail but only 7 seconds were recorded. Then she tried two more times...full message not recorded. How can I extend the time my voicemail will record? My carrier is AT&T.

Sounds like a problem at AT&Ts end. Give their customer services a call
