The unlocked galaxy s7 I bought did a system upgrade right after I set it up. It now does not have samsung cloud services. (That is, I can't find any reference to cloud services anywhere on the phone). The web site now says that cloud is only available from T-mobile. And I found reference to AT&T having deleted Samsung cloud from its phones.

Verizon cloud does not work on the unlocked phone, and this leaves me with no automatic backup. Options?

Also, this is a my soapbox: I think it's ok (if counterproductive*) for Verizon to make changes to the OS on phones it sells. But this seems like Verizon (and AT&T) are forcing Samsung to make changes on its unbranded, unlocked phones. This is horrible.

I have to agree with you here. The device is unlocked, the only change the network should be able to make its relevant settings to work on their network. They have no right to rummage around on your apps etc...
