What if my battery gets to its life end.A device can run indefinetly on external power supply?

[AC Question]

My tablet Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 SM T230 is functioning properly for the last 2 years.
I dont know what is the lifespan of the device.( Ralph Nader unveiled the worst suspictions about programmed selfdestruction or so)
But one day the battery will be worn out.
May I follow on external supply?
Instead of buying a new one?
