I cannot add my hotmail account to my Samsung S6 email accounts

Hi, ever since I have updated my Samsung S6, I couldn't open or read attachments received on my hotmail account. So, I did what it was suggested online, I deleted my hotmail account. I closed my phone and restarted it. I tried to reinstall my hotmail account, but unfortunately, I cannot install it anymore. I tried by going in my Settings, then Accounts, then Add account, and then Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync. I enter my email address, my password and select Set as default account for sending emails. I sign in, but it just keeps searching and searching with the message ``Checking incoming server settings``. And nothing happens. I tried by simply pressing on my Email icon, and Add an account, but it doesn't work either.
So, How do I reinstall my hotmail account to my Samsung S6 email? I didn't have this problem before. And the other problem now is that I don't have access to my contacts, which were linked to my hotmail account. Thanks for your help.
