google wifi is slower than verizon router

AC Question

I have a verizon router in a 4 story townhouse with 150mbps up and down. I have a wifi extender on the 4th floor with same results. I thought the mesh network would be better so I installed an onhub router on the 1st floor attached to the verizon router and three google wifi units on each floor. With the onhub and three google wifi's in the mesh network I get about 75mbps up and down. Why is it slower, and what is the advantage then? Should I eliminate the onhub abd connect the mesh to the verizon router?

A repeater cuts the speed in half, so that's normal. But unless you're running at least 15 devices at a time, it's not going to make any difference. That's the speed between you and your provider - the internet itself still hasn't reached 5MBps (and 5 X 15 = 75), so anything you do on the internet is limited to about 2MBps until it reaches your provider, then the packets come to your phone at 75MBps, with long times of nothing between packets..
