Welcome to Android Central! 7 hours of screen-on time seems unusually high. Most phones with specs similar to the S7 phones will give about 4-5 hours of screen-on time at best. I'd guess that the people who were getting 7 hours had modified their phones significantly, either with a custom ROM or with other system tinkering while rooted.

Poor cell signal a common culprit, as mentioned by chanchan05. Show us the graph from GSam Battery Monitor that shows the cell signal strength.

No two phones, even the exact same model, will have the same battery life, especially when used by different people. This is because it is set up differently. On my normal usage, my phone averages 15hrs standby with 4hrs screen on time. That has 4G on as the connection. No WiFi usage. If I turn off the internet connection and play a video, it can reach 7hrs screen on time easy. And that's just turning off data.

i dunno man. i think we should be getting more. i mean cmon. i got 3.5 hoursscreen time on samsung galaxy s4 lol.
i previously had a note 4 and i got around 3.5 hours on that too. then the s7 edge which has a bigger battery is not much different is it. i wanted at least 6 hour screen on time which is what other people are getting( even more ) with 4g and wifi.

Then switch to a carrier with better network coverage.
My numbers are actually skewed because a large part of thay SOT is playing an online multiplayer robot TPS game (War Robots).

Im gonna give it another cycle and use it and see how it goes. I dont even use the facebook app cause i heard it drains battery.
I have Facebook app active and syncing in the background.

Based on my usage in the past 2 hrs, 1hr 30min on the phone continuously playing games, and Facebooking and browsing, well I could probably get around 6 hrs screen on time from 100-10%.

Thats what im confused about. 2 hours screen time is a really big difference. Ive done all the power saving tips i could think of.
All syncing off , bt and location off and power saving mode on. I dont know what to do. I dont want to have to buy another s7 edge to make sure lol

1. Look at the graph in post #3. The break in the curve comes at approximately 9AM, which is about 11 hours (about 10PM) after the start of the graph. It's down to about 70% at that point.

2. To see your cell signal, tap the graph. You'll see a second graph, with cell signal strength at the bottom of the screen.

3. NEVER even think of dropping the battery to 0% - with most batteries, you'll need an external charger, that does a precharge, to ever use that battery again. Even 10% every time can kill a new battery in a month ("kill" to the point that you have to replace it). 40% is about the lowest you should ever let a lithium battery, any lithium battery, go.

Those battery tests where they play a video until the phone dies never reflect real world usage. Playing a video nonstop means you're not switching or opening apps, which in itself takes extra energy. And on top of that, other apps may use more energy because of various issues, like downloading or uploading of data. Facebook is an example of that, but it's by no means the only example. In your case, it might be Snapchat. Have you tried uninstalling Snapchat to see how your battery is affected?
