Saving an email thread to drive

I have a Samsung s6 and have recently had trouble with saving email threads to drive. I use gmail. I can save attachments to drive but not a normal email. I used to be able to do this. I click on print then save as pdf but it just says can't do it this time try again. Any help would be appreciated.

You may want to try MailDroid. Or, if you haven't deleted them from the server, use any email program on your PC (Thunderbird can save an email as an eml file, which is just text - but you'll see all the headers too.).
