Why is Smart Switch such a dud compared with Kies for photo upload ?

Kies allowed me to select photos for upload individually. Smart Switch buries every photo on the phone 6 folders deep every single time even if I only want one photo. WHY?

Because SmartSwitch is just a backup+update+transfer program. It was never intended to be a full PC Suite like Kies was. This was due to feedback that Kies sucked. Standalone dedicated photo and music programs worked faster and more reliable than it did. Since Android allowed that (You can use Windows Photo Manager, GIMP, or whatever photo program you want) they just removed those parts considered bloat.

To be honest, if I just wanted to get one photo from my phone, I never bothered opening a program for that. Plug the phone into a PC, open MyComputer, open the photos folder, and copy+paste the photo where I want it. An Android phone can be treated like a flash drive.
