My LG K5 will not answer when I swipe icon as instructed by screen.

I have tried using one, two and three fingers in all directions. Forced to simply call back. Can protocol for answering be changed?Tapping, screaming and threats with hammers do not work.

One finger, swipe the green icon in the direction of the red icon (all the way to the edge of the phone if necessary) until the phone answers. (Two or three fingers should also work, but the swipe has to be far enough - 1/2" isn't.)
