Do I need to root my LG G Pad 2 10.1 to connect a USB drive?

I've got a LG G Pad II 10.1 that I'm hoping to use to download the Windows 10 ISO to fix my PC before I sell it.

Can I just connect the USB via an OTG cable and it should work and allow me to save the ISO to the USB flash drive? Or do I need an app to mount the drive?

Well no. It has to have hardware support for it to work. Meaning no amount of adding new software will allow it to read USB drives if it can't in the first place.

Looking around the web says that at least some of the G Pad 2 10.1 models do support USBOTG, but it needs to be in FAT32 format. Thst format is standard for USB flash drives anyway. Not for EHDD though. You should be able to plug in a flash drive and it should work fine.
