AC Question
When I opened my phone this morning I saw two new generic Android icons on my home screen; both were for 360 Security.
I'm not here to discuss the merits of 360 Security. In fact, I didn't even know what 360 Security was until this happened.
I'd like to know who put these icons on my home screen. I do not recall asking for these icons and I checked to be sure I had not somehow installed this software.
Not knowing what 360 Security was at the time, I immediately thought my phone had been hacked so I ran my (Bitdefender) anti-virus app. My phone was clean and when I returned to my home screen the offending icons were gone, and the icons they replaced were back where I originally put them.
I'd like to find out who put these unwanted icons on my home screen - was it Google or Lenovo (I have the MotoX) or someone else - and how to prevent this from happening again. This is a most intrusive form of advertising.
Thanks for your help.
