I just want to transfer the apps themselves, and keep the actual data (that I "create") on my phones storage. Is there any way I can do that? Also if it's possible, can I make all of my future downloads go to my sd card and have my data stored on my phone?

    1. It's not possible. Most apps do store data internally, but the ones that store relative to where they're located won't if they're located on a card formatted as internal.

    2. Downloads go to internal storage in Android. Period. (Actually to sd0. You can seap the eMMC (internal) storage and SD (external) storage with an app like External 2 Internal SD (Root), but the phone has to be rooted, and SD doesn't last as long as eMMC when you use it for apps.

    3. If you're running 6.0 or later, you should be able to format the SD card as internal - then all you have is "storage" and Android decides what to put where. (Bad idea, originally developed for small phones, like 8GB internal in 2016, but it can keep an old phone usable in areas in which people don't buy new phones every few years.)
