    Walmart forces you to activate their iPhones or to have a Straight Talk SIM card already. So I would need to buy the iPhone, buy one month, and have it activated. Does this lock the phone to Straight Talk or will it accept my T-Mobile SIM card? I want one for T-Mobile and this is the cheapest way to get a brand new one.

    Maybe people who actually use iPhones would know more (this is an Android forum. You know, Samsung Galaxies, HTCs, LG, etc). Check out their forums on the URL posted below:

    Yes. I know that here in the U.K., iPhones bought from most retailers will lock to the carrier whose SIM you first use. To get a permanently unlocked one, you need to buy from Apple, or one or two particular retailers. I don't know why it is so, but it's a pesky nuisance.
