Why can't my samsung start?

it switched off once by itself and remained dead since....when switched on, it doesn't go past the samsung logo, when plugged in, it keeps looping on the startup but not going past the logo again....till recently it stopped showing the logo and only lights the screen when plugged in to charge.it's a samsung GT-S7500, in the Ace family i believe. Dr.Fone doesn't have it in its database,Kies 2/3 needs me to have the device on, of which so far i haven't been successful......i need to extract as much data from it without compromising any of it....

It sounds as if the ROM is corrupt, which means that the data would be too. You'll have to rely on your backup.
