Using a bluetooth adapter (transmitter) to bypass 6.0 bluetooth problems?

My new phone has Android 6.0, and I just got some bluetooth headphones for Christmas. When I try to listen to muic, it won't stay paired for more than a minute. It seems to constantly disconnect and reconnect. I know the problem isn't the headphones, because for whatever reason it works fine with my tablet (which also has marshmallow.) I looked it up and found out that marsmallow seems to have bluetooth issues. Would using a bluetooth adaptor that transmits, and plugs into the audio jack, work to solve this issue? Specifically I am looking at this product: "Inateck 2-In-1 Wireless Bluetooth Transmitter and Receiver Adapter with 3.5mm Stereo Output..." on Amazon.
