Galaxy S7 will pair as a phone or as an audio player, but not as both

Trying to pair my S7 to my 2011 Toyota Corolla. I can pair the S7 as an audio device, and it works fine. If I try to pair it as a phone, it refuses to pair. Conversely, I can pair the S7 as a phone only, and it works fine, but I can't pair it also as an audio player. Tried several combinations of pairing, deleting all BT devices on both car and phone between attempts. Same result each time. S7 is an SM-G930A model, running Android 6.0.1.

See if Toyota has an update for their radio. If not, you'll have to choose whichever one you want at the moment. (Bluetooth is a method of connecting two devices, but the profiles aren't anywhere near universal yet.)
