Can I transfer my photos from my Samsung S7 to my Mac book Air?

I have all my photos on my Samsung S7. I am trying to to transfer the
the pictures to my Mac book air into the Photo feature on my Mac. Can you help me or is this even possible?

Download and install/run https://www.android.com/filetransfer/
Plug your phone into your Mac
Swipe down the notification shade on your phone and select MTP mode (or in the case of mine, the transfer files mode) - see screenshots




You can now access the pictures from your phone by browsing to them (usually in a folder named DCIM). See screenshots.
