After update S7 frozen

[AC Question]

My galaxy S7 updated overnight and is now frozen with the message "Android is starting...Optimising app 7 of 7.
I have tried a number of resets with the power and volume down button, but to no effect, always comes back to the same message.
Anyone any ideas thanks

Boot into recovery and wipe system cache. This will NOT wipe any personal data. If this does not work, you may have to bite the bullet and do a factory data reset. This is wipe all personal data
