How can I get interactive texting over a car bluetooth radio?

Before coming back to Android I had a $60 Windows phone that perfectly integrated with my radio without setting anything up. If I received a text while driving she (the female voice) would interrupt what I was listening to, tell me I received a text from X, and ask me if she should read it or ignore it. After reading it to me, she would ask if I would like to reply (voice recognition over the car's mic) and send it for me or if I was done. Now that I have an Android costing many multiples more I cannot get close to that functionality. I have tried some apps including Read to Me and just can't get it. Can anyone tell me how to do it? I have 6.0.1 on an LG phone. Thanks for the input

That's Cortana (Microsoft assistant). She's available on the Play Store too, just not sure how well she works for Android. No harm in tryinh though I suppose.
