Is this Google's idea of protection, by denying the legal owner to use his phone. My phone was hacked (Google's fault, allowing troyan to Google Play), my account was hacked (again Google's fault, never gave my password to hackers) and after factory reset Google wants me to log in with the [Removed by Moderator] HACKED ACCOUNT!?!

How can I do that when my account has been hacked and I don't know my password?? I tried with the first account every used, and it didn't work either. Nothing works. [Removed by Moderator] incompetent Android OS developers.

Welcome to the forums. What app was it that caused the hack? What device do you have?

You may be the legal owner of the phone, but the feature is still what it is - to sign in after certain factory reset methods you HAVE to use one of the accounts that was on the phone.

The people and the carriers wanted this - it's the "killswitch" that was implemented to help curb theft of devices. Apple has a similar setup but there is a work-around (proving ownership of the device in-store) in case the account is no longer available. I do agree that Google should have some kind of work-around like that.

If the account was changed so that none of your accounts are on it, contact first your carrier then, if they can't (or won't) help, Google.
