Does the sensor TYPE_ROTATION_VECTOR need accelerometer calibration?

The documentation states that the accelerometer needs to be calibrated for every device. Is this also necessary when using TYPE_ROTATION_VECTOR, which is a fusion of magnetometer, gyroscope and accelerometer?

Ah well, what device do you have? Most have a service menu (try *#0*#) where you can access all that and test /calibrate it. If the documentation tells you to test, it should also say how to do it...

The android documentation does mention how to calibrate the accelerometer but does not say anything regarding the TYPE_ROTATION_VECTOR. If anyone has worked with it, any info appreciated, thanks.
