for the life of me i cannot seem to link an s5 to iMac

[AC Question]

trying to link s5 to iMac with usb cable. iMac keeps telling me it's not connected. the phone is charging and I have turned it off and on and tried a different usb cable. Am I missing something?

iMacs can read Android without a program like Android link. The plug and use thing works only for PC.
